Welcome to MY world…

Way out of my comfort zone… Expressing myself for public scrutiny and comment.

You see – I know I can write. I even have a passion for it, in some ways. I love the rhythm of words and the way they look on paper. The balance, the simplicity, the emotions word can bring out. It’s amazing. What makes me nervous is saying what I have to say, knowing that it is then out there for all to see.

Give me an audience of one and I’m cool… 10…? Scared shitless.

Yes… I’ve had a couple of poems published. But that is the beauty of poems… Where, on one hand, you can say so much with just a few words, you are also able to avoid an explanation.

Perception in the eye of beholder?

I don’t control the affect my poems have on you – I can control it, to a degree but, like a painting, poems talk to people in different ways. With a blog – you get an insight into my thoughts at the time and it becomes a lot more personal and “in my space”.

And the gist of it all is this… It’s MY space. I have let some people into my space but have never let anyone in completely. Allowing anonymous entry into that space is pretty damn nerve-wrecking. BUT… I hope that what I have to say might be relevant to you, from time to time (the rest of the time it is likely to piss you off!) and I believe this is a big-ass-lonely world and having a connection to someone in some way makes all the difference some days.

So, hopefully, something I say might just tap you on the shoulder to remind you that you’re not alone… And that makes it worthwhile.

Just some groundrules, though, before we start this adventure… You need to understand that inside this overweight, afro-headed man is a young boy. He makes mistakes… Lots! He says things without thinking, he is often scared, lonely, confused and angry.

BUT… He will always try to be honest.
